Hushe Valley offers various exciting trekking routes in the central Karakoram where we have carefully included the 7821m Masherbrum base camp, 5650m Gondogoro La and Saraksa valleys to give maximum exposure in minimum time.

The first phase of this trek will lead straight to the base camp of Masherbrum, the 24th highest in the world.

The Gondogoro Valley will be our next destination to have excellent views of central Karakoram peaks including K-2, Broad Peak, dagger up 6400m Laila Peak and Concordia from the dramatic Gondogoro Pass at 5650m height. Finally, we will visit feet of 6934m K-7, and 7281m K-6 before return to Hushe Village.

Unspoiled environment, close-up mountain panorama and picturesque summer pastures are the few major attractions of this tour.

Itinerary

Day 01:Arrive at Islamabad International Airport
Welcome by Blue Sky staff company guide and transfer to Hotel. First we will have lunch and proceed for sightseeing trip will take you to the twin cities of modern capital Islamabad and the old city Rawalpindi. Overnight will be in hotel.

Day 2: Skardu/Chilas

a) Flight to Skardu Pk-451 (Flight is subject to weather) upon arrival transfer to hotel for overnight.

b) In case of flight cancellation, we take two day drive to Skardu, along the Karakorum Highway. We stay overnight at Chilas (Hotel).

Day 3: Skardu

a) In case the flight operate than we have a free day for sight-seeing, acclimatization and preparations at Skardu, the capital of Baltistan and the gateway to great Karakorum mountains.

b) If we are driving the road journey today will be 7-8 hrs to Skardu along the Indus River. On route are spectacular views of Nanga Parbat (8125m), Haramosh peaks etc.

Afternoon briefing at Ministry of Toursim Office, Skardu. Overnight hotel.

Day 4: Drive to Hushe
We drive in jeeps along the Indus and Shyok valleys before turning northwards up the Hushe valley to reach the road head at the little Village of Hushe. The roads in this area are subject to landslides and broken bridges so we may have to start walking before Hushe. Overnight camping.

Day 5: Trek to Saischo:
We begin walking towards the huge bulk of Masherbrum before turning east to reach our camp at Saischo is situated at the confluence of the Gondogoro and Charakusa valleys. There is plenty of time to bath in refreshing mountain streams or to admire the rugged peaks which tower above the Charakusa glacier. Overnight camping.

Day 6: Excursion to Charkusa Valley (K7 BC)
We spend a day exploring the area around the Charakusa glacier, with an excursion to the summer pastures at Boldumpa, where we enjoy spectacular views of the rock pinnacles and snow domes which form jagged ridges beneath the summits of , K6, K7 and Nameka Peak. Overnight Camping.

Day 7: Trek to Dalsangpa
We will cross the Gondogoro glacier to the summer hamlets and pastures at Gondogoro following the often steep moraine ridge. Descending on to glacier itself, we soon reach the lakeside camp at Dalsangpa, surrounded by rocky summits including the huge mass of Masherbrum itself. Overnight camping.

Day 8: Trek to Khuspang 
A more difficult day as we walk up the glacier to Gondogoro base camp, sometimes on moraine and sometimes on ice, all the time beneath the impressive spire of Laila peak. We make time in the afternoon to give those who need it a certain amount of practice in the use of ice axes and crampons. Overnight camping.

Day 9: Gondogoro Peak
Today we will attempt to reach the top of Gondogoro Peak (5650 meters). We leave the base camp and climb over rocky ground to ascend the headwall of the valley. The snow field which leads to submit progress in a series of steeps which may require ropes to safeguard the ascent from summit there are incredible views of Masherbrum and Laila peaks to the west. Overnight camping.

Day 10: Rest Day  

Day 11: Trek back to Saicho

Trek down to Saicho by the same route. overnights in camping.

Day 12: Trek to Hushe

Trek down to Hushe. overnight in camp.

Day 13: Skardu

Drive back to Skardu. Afternoon de-brieifing at Ministry of Toursim Office, Skardu. overnight in hotel.

Day 14: Fly to Islamabad/Drive to Chilas

Fly back to Islamabad and transfer to hotel. In case of flight cancellation drive to Chilas.

Day 15:  Free day or drive to Islamabad from Chilas

Day 16: Transfer to airport for onward destination.

Terms and Conditions

RESERVATIONS/PAYMENTS:

A non-refundable deposit of $300 or 15% of the tour is required in order to make a reservation with the company. Total balance is due 3 weeks prior to departure. When price once fixed then any extra expenses will be charged to the client.

CANCELLATION & REFUND

Before 3 weeks prior to departure, the deposit is non-refundable. Within 3 weeks, 50%, whichever is less, is non-refundable. once the tour starts 100% is non-refundable. There will be no refund for unused services.

CHANGES TO ITINERARY:

The Blue Sky Treks & Tours have made attempts to make the itineraries accurate but the company has reserved the right to change itinerary under unfavourable conditions. In such circumstances the company will provide similar alternatives. We welcome any changes before final booking.

BAGGAGE:

On treks and safaris 20 kg and on expeditions 50kg will be free.

LIABILITIES:

The Blue Sky Treks & Tours will do its best to make the tours comfortable and secure. However, the company shall not responsible for any kind of injury, damage, death, loss, accident, delays, public disturbances, and all those that beyond our control.

INSURANCE AND TRAVEL RISKS:

It is important for the clients to purchase a travel insurance package in their own country, hence no foreigner will be able to purchase an insurance in Pakistan. Trekking, expedition, tours, safari may involve risks and several other factors that cannot be foretold. Medical emergencies, natural calamities are common in high altitudes and we like to be assured that our clients are insured against helicopter evacuations, trip cancellations, and personal accidents so that they don’t have to suffer.

It is to be noted that the company shall not bear any losses or provide compensation in case the guest’s insurance doesn’t cover any or all aspects of the trip.
