AROUND NANGAPARBAT TREK
Western Himalayan trek
This trek runs through the enchanting lands of Western finger of great Himalayas replete with alpine meadows, lofty pinnacles, dense forests and strangely fantastic forms of landscape that qualify it as a best trekking route in Pakistan.
This 14 days adventure makes a circuit of the 8125m Nanga Parbat. This only Himalayan peak in Pakistan offers the grandest spectacle from distance but we will have breathtaking close-ups of its ‘hundred faces’ during this tour.
Starting with an easy to moderate walking of two to four hours daily along the lateral moraines and flat green pastures, we will cross the Mazino Pass, which is the strenuous and sensational climax of this adventure.
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive Islamabad
Arrive at Islamabad International Airport. Welcome by Blue Sky staff company guide and transfer to Hotel. First we will have lunch and proceed for sightseeing trip will take you to the twin cities of modern capital Islamabad and the old city Rawalpindi. Overnight will be in hotel.
Day 02: Drive to Chilas
We take two day drive to Tarishing Astore, having an overnight at Chilas, shadowing by the Nanga Parbat peak. Early morning drive to Chilas by Air Conditioned coach on KKH and along the Indus River. We will have lunch at Besham. From here we drive through the deep Indus gorge. Arrive Chilas in 12-13 hours. Overnight in hotel.
Day 03: Drive to Tarashing ( 2900m) 7 hrs drive
Early morning drive to Tarashing, the road end village in the mini bus and jeeps through the valley of Astore. Tarashing, the start of Rupal Valley is gives the typical Himalayan impression. Overnight and meals in camp.
Day 04: Trek to Bazin (3600m) 4/5 hrs
Early we start our trek on easy trails and after one hour we will cross the Tarashing Glacier and enter into the lower Rupal Valley with big summer settlements before reach our camping spot Bazin, just under the solid ice wall of east face of Nanga Parbat. Overnight and meals in camp.
Day 05: Trek to Shaigiri (3700m) 5/6 hrs
We start trek on Bazin Glacier which takes about two hours to cross. After the glacier the trek becomes pleasant through the juniper and willow trees. The trek continues up to the Rupal River, Herligkoffer base camp to Shaigiri where we will camp. The place offers captivating views of the southern face of Nanga Parbat. At Shaigiri porters slaughter a goat and arrange campfire.
Day 06: Trek to Mazino Base (4200m) 4/5 hrs
Following the the lateral moraine of Rupal Glacier. Today have fascinating views of Nanga Parbat, Rupal and Laila Peaks. The camp is pleasant with grass and Juniper trees.
Day 07: Free day at Rupal face Basecamp
Day 08: Trek to Mazino High Camp (4724 m) 5/6 hrs
Today’s trek is relatively hard due to the steep ascending and the Mazino glacier walking. We also leave behind the vegetation and camp at high altitude just near to the base of the pass.
Day 09: Cross the Pass (5399) 7/8 hrs
The climax of the trek today will be the crossing of the Mazino Pass (5399m). We will start ascending very early morning. The climb is gradual and less difficult than the other side of the pass which requires basic climbing and safety measures and tools. After crossing the pass Loiba glacier starts and we will camp here at upper Loiba for overnight.
Day 10: Trek to Lower Loiba (4000m) 3/4 hrs
Trek down from upper Loiba to Lower Loiba which is also called as Loiba Meadows. Today we have easy walk through the lush green meadows and trees. Overnight camp is surrounded by shepherds huts.
Day 11: Trek to Kachal (3000m) 4/5 hrs
Today the trek is very easy through pine and birch trees and will cross the river to enter the Kachal summer settlements. We have stunning views of Nanga Parbat all the way. Overnight camp at Kachal.
Day 12: Trek to Zangot (4200m) 6/7 hrs
Today we trek down to Zangot but enroute we will have an excursion trek to to Diamer Base camp, from where the famous mountaineer Reinhold Messner climbed Nanga Parbat in 1979. Overnight at Zangot.
Day 13: Trek and drive to Chilas (6/7 hrs trek, 4 hrs drive)
Today a warmer having steep descend to Diamer river to arrive Dimroi from where jeeps takes us to Chilas, the central town of Diamer District. Overnight in hotel.
Day 14: Drive to Islamabad
Morning drive on Karakorum High Way along the Indus River having lunch at Besham, we arrive Islamabad in 12 hours. Meals and overnight in hotel.
Day 15: Transfer to airport for international departure flight.

Terms and Conditions
RESERVATIONS/PAYMENTS:
A non-refundable deposit of $300 or 15% of the tour is required in order to make a reservation with the company. Total balance is due 3 weeks prior to departure. When price once fixed then any extra expenses will be charged to the client.

CANCELLATION & REFUND
Before 3 weeks prior to departure, the deposit is non-refundable. Within 3 weeks, 50%, whichever is less, is non-refundable. Once the tour starts 100% is non-refundable. There will be no refund for unused services.
CHANGES TO ITINERARY:
The Blue Sky Treks & Tours have made attempts to make the itineraries accurate but the company has reserved the right to change itinerary under unfavourable conditions. In such circumstances the company will provide similar alternatives. We welcome any changes before final booking.
BAGGAGE:
On treks and safaris 20 kg and on expeditions 50kg will be free.
LIABILITIES:
The Blue Sky Treks & Tours will do its best to make the tours comfortable and secure. However, the company shall not responsible for any kind of injury, damage, death, loss, accident, delays, public disturbances, and all those that beyond our control.
INSURANCE AND TRAVEL RISKS:
It is important for the clients to purchase a travel insurance package in their own country, hence no foreigner will be able to purchase an insurance in Pakistan. Trekking, expedition, tours, safari may involve risks and several other factors that cannot be foretold. Medical emergencies, natural calamities are common in high altitudes and we like to be assured that our clients are insured against helicopter evacuations, trip cancellations, and personal accidents so that they don’t have to suffer.
It is to be noted that the company shall not bear any losses or provide compensation in case the guest’s insurance doesn’t cover any or all aspects of the trip.
